Diagnosica vs Neural Consult: which should you use for patient cases?
Updated 20 October 2026
Pick Neural Consult if you want one subscription for question banks, flashcards, lecture tools and a voice and text case simulator, across dozens of health degrees. Pick Diagnosica if patient cases are the thing you want to practise: you talk to a patient on video, it runs on iPhone and Android as well as the web, and Standard costs $14.99 a month against Neural Consult's $24.99 (as of 20 October 2026).
We make Diagnosica, so weigh this page with that in mind. Every Neural Consult fact here comes from its own site, read on 20 October 2026; if something has changed since, their site wins.

Where is Neural Consult the better choice?
Neural Consult is the better pick when you want more than cases. One plan covers a question generator, flashcards with Anki export, lecture summaries and AI search, and you can write your own cases for the simulator. It also covers degrees Diagnosica doesn't: if you're on a PA, nursing or pharmacy course, it has you in mind. Its site says it's trusted by over 75,000 students and counts 36,860 patients simulated (their figures).
Where is Diagnosica the better choice?
Diagnosica only does patient cases. Four things hold together there: the patient is on video; the free tier is a real allowance, with no card; it has native Android and iPhone apps as well as the web; and it is used well outside the US, in the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia, with UK cards paying in pounds. In each case you order labs and imaging, read real radiology images, then commit to a diagnosis and a plan before you see the scorecard. A full case takes around 15 to 20 minutes, a quick case about 2 minutes, and a daily streak and weekly leagues make it something you open most days rather than the week before an exam. It has no physical examination, and it won't help with flashcards or question banks.
